The right agent for the right phase. Qodo for review.

The agent that writes your code shouldn’t be the one that grades it.

Qodo is mentioned as an example code review agent in the “2026 Gartner Don’t Use AI Coding Agents for Every Software Engineering Task Report”. Here’s why we think that distinction matters.

What we believe the report makes clear:

  • Coding agents and code review are different jobs, not one feature.
  • Coding agents add real value as a first pass, but not as the authoritative review.
  • Authoritative review belongs at the pull request, with a purpose-built agent.
  • Qodo is mentioned as one of the example code review agents.

our point of view

One category does not fit the whole life cycle

Two jobs, not one

Writing code and reviewing it are different disciplines. In our view, a tool optimized for one shouldn’t be trusted to grade the other.

A first pass, not the last word

Coding agents move fast and add real value early. We believe the authoritative check still belongs downstream.

Review stays authoritative

The way we see it, review belongs at the pull request, run by an agent built for it, independent of whichever assistant wrote the code.
