Senior Backend Engineer

About The Position

At Qodo, we’re building an AI Code Review platform that helps developers move fast, ship with confidence, and elevate code quality across the SDLC through deep, scalable codebase understanding.

We’re seeking an exceptional Senior Backend Engineer to join our Platform team. This team is at the heart of what we do- building the tools and infrastructure that enable Qodo to scale rapidly while maintaining the quality and reliability our users depend on.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Ownership: Lead projects from design through production, taking responsibility for technical decisions and their outcomes
• Platform Architecture: Design and evolve scalable backend systems that power our core products
• Infrastructure & Reliability: Build robust, high-performance APIs and services that handle production workloads at scale
• Developer Experience: Create internal tools and frameworks that accelerate development across the organization
• Technical Leadership: Drive architectural discussions, mentor team members, and raise the bar for engineering quality

Our Technical Stack

• Backend: Python, FastAPI
• Data Stores: PostgreSQL, Redis

Infrastructure: GCP, GKE, Docker, Kubernetes

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience building high-performance, scalable SaaS systems
• Strong expertise in Python and modern backend development practices
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture (GCP/AWS)
• True ownership mentality — you drive projects forward independently and hold yourself accountable
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where you move quickly without compromising on quality

Bonus Points

• Experience building developer tools
• Hands-on DevOps experience
• Familiarity with GenAI product development
